Many diesel users assume that a fuel additive is simply a single chemical poured into a fuel tank to improve performance. Premium diesel additives are far more sophisticated.

EPC+ contains seven active components that work together to improve combustion, protect the fuel system, and help reduce diesel consumption, operating costs and emissions. 1. Deposit Control Detergent


Modern diesel engines rely on highly precise fuel injection. Over time, microscopic deposits accumulate on fuel injectors, altering the spray pattern and reducing combustion efficiency.


The deposit control detergent keeps injectors clean and can remove existing deposits. Cleaner injectors produce a finer fuel mist, resulting in more complete combustion, improved engine performance and lower fuel consumption.


2. Cetane Improver


Cetane is to diesel what octane is to petrol. However, rather than resisting ignition, a higher cetane number enables diesel fuel to ignite more quickly after injection.

The cetane improver reduces ignition delay, allowing fuel to burn more efficiently and completely. The result is smoother engine operation, easier starting, reduced diesel knock, and lower emissions of unburnt hydrocarbons and particulate matter.


3. Friction Modifier


Every diesel engine loses energy through mechanical friction. While engine oil provides most of the lubrication, a friction modifier within the fuel provides additional protection for components in the fuel injection system.


Reducing friction means less energy is lost overcoming internal resistance. This contributes to improved fuel efficiency while helping extend the service life of fuel pumps and injectors.


4. Corrosion Inhibitor


Water contamination and condensation can cause corrosion inside storage tanks and fuel systems.


The corrosion inhibitor forms a protective barrier on metal surfaces, helping prevent rust and corrosion. This protects expensive fuel system components, improves long-term reliability and reduces maintenance costs.


5. Demulsifier


Water is one of diesel fuel's greatest enemies. Even small amounts can encourage microbial growth, promote corrosion and reduce combustion quality.


A demulsifier separates water from the diesel rather than allowing it to remain suspended in the fuel. The separated water can then be removed through normal filtration or water separators, helping keep the fuel system cleaner, drier and more reliable.


6. Antioxidant


Diesel naturally degrades over time through oxidation, particularly during long-term storage.


The antioxidant slows this ageing process by reducing the formation of gums, varnishes and sediments. This improves fuel stability, extends storage life and helps maintain fuel quality from delivery through to consumption.


7. Anti-Foaming Agent


Foaming during refuelling may seem like a minor inconvenience, but excessive foam slows filling operations and reduces operational efficiency.

The anti-foaming agent rapidly collapses bubbles, allowing fuel tanks to be filled more quickly and accurately. For fleets, mine sites and bulk fuel facilities dispensing hundreds of thousands of litres, even small-time savings can translate into significant productivity gains.

Cleaner injectors enable the cetane improver to maximise combustion efficiency. More efficient combustion complements the fuel-saving benefits of the friction modifier. Corrosion protection, water management and oxidation control help preserve the integrity of the entire fuel system, while the anti-foaming agent improves the efficiency of everyday refuelling operations.
